A two hour virtual workshop in project planning for floor loom weaving!

Date: Wed, October 16, 2024

Time: 6:30-8:30 CDT

Course Description:

Are you having trouble determining your ends per inch? Are you tired of planning a project that turns out to be way smaller than you'd hoped it to be? Then this is the webinar for you! Join Christine Novotny as she walks through planning a project for floor loom weaving, step by step. In this webinar, we will use a mock project and follow Christine’s tried and true Project Planning Sheet to demonstrate how to:

**determine sett

**plan warp length and width

**calculate how much yarn you'll need to order (down to the ounce!)

**pick a draft from a book and use it in your project

**weave samples the easy way

**finishing techniques

We will also cover how to assess your projects after they come off the loom as well as good record keeping. This is an excellent opportunity for new floor loom weavers to gain confidence in creating their own handwoven pieces, or experienced weavers hoping to learn a few new tricks to improve their planning skills.

NOTE: Two days before the course, participants will receive an email with the Project Record Sheet and a link to the Zoom meeting. If you cannot attend live, a link to the video will be sent out within the week after the live class.
